Scour the junk yards and scrap metal places for 1 inch
aluminum or 1/2 steel plates. I went to the Salvage yard and found some 1/2 plate and he said if I cut the piece I needed
it would be $20. I called a Steel Supplier and they said they would cut me the same size piece for $22. So try your
local Steel Supplier as well as the junk yards.
